Just went whitewater rafting, really fun! Getting to know anna's fam better. I like them a lot. We're renting a house right on the lake. Awesome views! Posted via LiveJournal.app. Here is Angelo Badalamenti's description of his composing the Twin Peaks Love Theme with David Lynch at his side. An awesome example of musical collaboration: I'm featured on the Flickr blog today (thanks to Zack for this)! http://blog.flickr.net/en/2009/06/26/wi I decided to try something new with flickr. I'll continue using http://www.flickr.com/photos/myelectric I like it here. Anna's sister's wedding is tomorrow. Met her dad, he is really cool, a photographer. Must sleep. Hope everyone is well. Posted via LiveJournal.app. David Byrne has upload a set of black metal album covers to his flickr account. Here's a brief summary of black metal from wikipedia: Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal. It often employs fast tempos, shrieked vocals, highly distorted guitars played with tremolo picking, double-kick drumming, and unconventional song structure.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_meta I haven't heard the music, but the covers are quite lovely -- moody and evocative. ![]() ![]() ![]() More: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39320323@N I submitted a selection of my BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) photos to the BART blog, and the webmaster there posted one of my images with some kind words and a link to my flickr account! Huh. Kind of weird. I like his glasses... There are lots of sweet insights in this BLDGBLOG interview with game critic Jim Rossignol. And if you haven't checked it out yet, BLDGBLOG rocks. I can't recommend it highly enough! At one point, I found a bunch of tapes that were nothing but surveillance footage taken inside Wembley Stadium. It was unlabeled, black and white footage of people milling about outside the bathrooms, near the ticket gate, and so on—and my initial thought was actually that some sort of crime must have taken place. There had been a stabbing, or a riot—and, I thought, maybe even someone here at Foster & Partners had been involved. That’s why we had the tapes. Then again, that’s how it always is with surveillance tapes: you’re always waiting for something to happen on them. All CCTV footage of road traffic, for instance, looks like CCTV footage taken right before an accident.http://bldgblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/th So where did rooster sauce come from? Now you know! Multicultural appeal was engineered into the product: the ingredient list on the back of the bottle is written in Vietnamese, Chinese, English, French and Spanish. And serving suggestions include pizzas, hot dogs, hamburgers and, for French speakers, pâtés.http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/20/dinin I love the sound of these. The sights are good too. It looks like Avalon used some of my shots on their website: |
